Kogi Varsity Withdraws 27 Students Over Poor Academic Performance

The management of Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU), Anyigba, Kogi State, has withdrawn 27 students from the institution over poor academic performance and other disciplinary-related issues. The decision followed the university's review of students' academic records and compliance with its regulations.

The university said the affected students failed to meet the minimum academic requirements stipulated in its guidelines despite being given opportunities to improve their performance. It explained that maintaining high academic standards remains a priority and that students are expected to satisfy the conditions for continued enrolment.

According to the institution, some of the withdrawals were also linked to violations of the university's academic regulations and other provisions contained in the students' handbook. Management stressed that the action was taken in line with the institution's established rules and approved procedures.

The university urged students to remain committed to their studies and comply with academic and disciplinary requirements to avoid similar sanctions. It also encouraged those experiencing academic challenges to take advantage of available counselling and support services within the institution.

The management reaffirmed its commitment to upholding academic excellence and producing graduates capable of competing globally. It added that the institution would continue to enforce its regulations fairly while providing a conducive environment for teaching, learning and research.
