2027 Northern Nigerians Will Repay Tinubu with Votes, Says Sani, Yari

Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani and the Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Abdul’aziz Yari, have said Northern Nigerians will reward President Bola Tinubu’s administration with votes in the 2027 presidential election.

They made the remarks on Saturday at the APC presidential campaign flag-off rally at Ranchers Stadium in Kaduna, where party leaders highlighted federal government projects and called for continuity under Tinubu’s leadership.

Sani said the North had benefited from the administration’s interventions in infrastructure, security, education and agriculture, arguing that voters should assess political leaders based on their records rather than regional identity.

Recalling Tinubu’s 2022 campaign visit to Birnin Gwari, Kaduna State, the governor said the President had pledged to reconstruct the Kaduna–Birnin Gwari Road and address insecurity in the area.

He claimed that both commitments had been fulfilled, citing the release of about ₦117 billion for the reconstruction of the 123-kilometre road and improvements in security along the corridor.

Sani also commended the ongoing reconstruction of the Abuja–Kaduna expressway, saying the project was approximately 95 per cent complete. He added that improved security had made road travel easier for residents and other commuters.

On education, the governor praised federal support for students in the North-West, including student financing and initiatives intended to expand access to education for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.

He further cited agricultural interventions and infrastructure projects as measures supporting economic development and improving livelihoods across the region.

Sani urged APC supporters to remain vigilant during the campaign, alleging that opposition parties had expanded their communication strategies beyond conventional social media platforms to the use of artificial intelligence.

He also challenged opposition politicians seeking support based on regional identity to present evidence of their achievements in public office.

Yari, meanwhile, said the APC would base its campaign on the administration’s record in infrastructure, healthcare, education and human capital development.

He disclosed that the party had been engaging traditional rulers, Islamic scholars and religious leaders to explain the importance of Tinubu’s return to office in 2027.

The former Zamfara State governor expressed confidence in the North’s support for the President, saying the party intended to demonstrate the strength of its support during the election.

Both leaders urged party members to mobilise voters across communities and communicate the administration’s achievements as the APC prepares for the 2027 general election.
