Kano to Strengthen Collaboration With FG, Partners on Education
Abba Kabir Yusuf has reaffirmed the commitment of the Kano State Government to strengthen collaboration with the Federal Government and development partners to improve education delivery across the state.
The governor made this known on Friday while receiving the Minister of State for Education, Suwaiba Said Ahmed, during a courtesy visit at the Government House in Kano.
According to a statement issued on Saturday by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mustapha Muhammad, Yusuf said his administration would continue to support all initiatives aimed at expanding access to quality education and improving learning infrastructure across the state.
“We will continue to collaborate and support every move aimed at developing education in Kano State,” the governor said.
He explained that education remains a key priority of his administration, stressing that sustained investment in the sector is critical to long-term development, youth empowerment, and economic growth.
Yusuf also highlighted ongoing intervention programmes aimed at improving school facilities, teacher welfare, and access to learning materials, noting that partnerships with the Federal Government and international development partners remain essential in achieving these goals.
He further described the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) project as a major intervention supporting education reform in the state through infrastructural development, school improvement programmes, and targeted support for girls’ education.
The governor said the administration is committed to ensuring that more children, particularly girls, have access to safe and quality education, adding that such investments will help reduce inequality and improve human capital development in Kano.
He expressed appreciation for the continued support of development partners in strengthening the education sector and assured that Kano State would remain open to collaborations that align with its education reform agenda.
