Kano Delegation Visits Sultan, Condoles Sokoto Over Sardauna's Death

A delegation from the Kano State Government has paid a condolence visit to the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa'ad Abubakar III, and the government and people of Sokoto State following the death of the Sardaunan Sokoto, Alhaji Abubakar Alhaji. The visit was undertaken on behalf of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf as a mark of solidarity with the Sultanate Council and the bereaved family.

The delegation, led by Deputy Governor Murtala Garo, included the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Ibrahim, the Emir of Rano, Muhammad Umar, Kano APC Chairman Umar Doguwa, Commissioner for Culture and Tourism Aisha Saji, and other senior government officials. The team first visited the residence of the late Sardauna, where they conveyed Governor Yusuf's condolences to the deceased's family.

Receiving the delegation, the late Sardauna's first son, Aminu Abubakar, expressed appreciation to the Kano State Government for the gesture, describing it as a source of comfort during the family's period of mourning. The delegation later proceeded to the Sultan's palace, where Governor Yusuf's condolence message was formally presented to the monarch.

The Sultan thanked Governor Yusuf for the visit, describing it as a demonstration of the enduring unity and brotherhood among the people of Northern Nigeria. The delegation also visited the Sokoto State Government House, where they were received by the Deputy Governor and the Secretary to the State Government, who accepted the governor's condolences on behalf of the state government.

In his condolence message, Governor Yusuf described the late Sardaunan Sokoto as a respected elder whose contributions to the Sultanate and Northern Nigeria would be remembered for generations. He prayed for Allah to forgive the deceased's shortcomings, grant him Aljannatul Firdaus, and give his family, the Sultanate Council and the people of Sokoto the strength to bear the loss.
