Three siblings travelling from Abuja to Benue State with the remains of their late mother have reportedly been abducted by suspected armed herdsmen along the Ogobia–Otukpo Road in Ohimini Local Government Area of the state. The victims were said to have been transporting their mother's body to Iklenyi community in Okpokwu Local Government Area for burial when they were ambushed by the gunmen in the early hours of Saturday.

According to family sources and community members, the attackers intercepted the vehicle conveying the deceased's body between the Omutele and Ankpechi communities before abducting the three siblings. The gunmen reportedly left with both the victims and the corpse of their late mother, leaving other travellers and residents in shock over the unusual nature of the incident. The abduction has heightened concerns about the worsening security situation along major roads in Benue State.
