Gov Oborevwori Hails Oyebanji’s Ekiti Re-election Victory
Delta Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has congratulated Biodun Oyebanji on his Ekiti re-election, describing the victory as a reward for purposeful leadership, good governance and public confidence.
Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has congratulated his Ekiti State counterpart, Biodun Oyebanji, on his victory in the 2026 governorship election.
Oborevwori described Oyebanji’s re-election as a reward for purposeful leadership, inclusive governance and policies focused on improving the lives of residents of Ekiti State.
The Delta governor conveyed his congratulatory message through his Chief Press Secretary, Festus Ahon, in a statement issued on Sunday in Asaba.
He said the outcome of the election reflected the confidence and trust placed in Oyebanji’s administration by the people of Ekiti State.
Oyebanji, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was declared winner of the election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) after securing 319,224 votes.
Oborevwori described the victory as historic, noting that it marked the first time a sitting governor in Ekiti State had secured a consecutive second term since the state’s creation.
He said the result demonstrated the people’s approval of Oyebanji’s leadership style, which he described as being anchored on inclusiveness, development and political stability.
The Delta governor commended APC leaders, stakeholders and grassroots supporters for their roles in ensuring the governor’s victory across all 16 local government areas of Ekiti State.
“Your re-election is a clear endorsement of your administration’s achievements and commitment to Ekiti State’s development,” Oborevwori said.
He expressed confidence that Oyebanji’s second term would provide an opportunity for the governor to consolidate ongoing programmes and accelerate economic growth in the state.
Oborevwori also praised the unity among political stakeholders and supporters of the APC, saying their collective efforts contributed significantly to the outcome of the election.
He wished the Ekiti governor continued success, wisdom and good health as he begins another term in office.
Oyebanji’s victory has continued to attract congratulatory messages from political leaders across the country, with many describing the outcome as an endorsement of his administration’s performance during his first tenure.
The APC candidate defeated his major challengers, including Peoples Democratic Party candidate Wole Oluyede and African Democratic Congress candidate Dare Bejide, in the election conducted across Ekiti State.
