Ganduje Says Obi, Kwankwaso Lack Legacy to Win 2027 Election

Former All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje has said that opposition figures Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso do not possess the political legacy or governance record needed to win the 2027 presidential election. Ganduje made the remarks while dismissing the chances of a potential Obi-Kwankwaso alliance, insisting it would fail to secure widespread support, particularly in Kano State.

According to Ganduje, the two politicians lack the achievements and political influence required to unseat the ruling party. He argued that the APC remains firmly rooted across the country and expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu and the party would retain power in the next general election. Ganduje also maintained that any proposed alliance between Obi and Kwankwaso would not pose a significant electoral threat.

The former Kano State governor further stated that Kano remains a stronghold for the APC and dismissed suggestions that an opposition coalition could make significant inroads in the state. He said the ruling party's political structure and track record would continue to attract voter support ahead of the 2027 polls.

Ganduje's comments come amid increasing political realignments and coalition talks ahead of the 2027 general election, with major parties and opposition figures intensifying preparations for the presidential contest.
