Crude Oil Spill From Heritage Energy Facility Devastates Delta Community

Residents of Olomoro Community in Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State have raised alarm over a major crude oil spill from a facility operated by Heritage Energy Operational Services Limited, alleging that the incident has severely polluted the environment and destroyed farmlands, fishing ponds and sources of drinking water. Community members said the spill has left many residents without their primary means of livelihood.

According to the report, residents claimed the spill originated from one of the company's oil facilities and spread across large portions of the community. They said crops, rivers and fish ponds were contaminated, while the pollution has raised concerns about public health and long-term environmental damage. Community leaders called on the company and relevant government agencies to urgently contain the spill, clean up the affected areas and compensate victims for their losses.
