FMBN Assures Customers of Uninterrupted Services After Abuja Headquarters Fire

The Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) has assured customers, stakeholders and the general public that its operations remain fully functional despite the fire incident that affected part of its headquarters in Abuja. The bank said business activities have continued without disruption, with contingency measures ensuring seamless service delivery.

In a statement signed by the Group Head of Corporate Communications, Joe Abuku, FMBN disclosed that the fire, which occurred on Saturday night, was quickly contained before it could spread to other sections of the building. Although office furniture, equipment and appliances in the affected area were damaged, the bank said no lives were lost and critical official documents remained safe because they had been digitally backed up and stored in the cloud.

The bank explained that investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the incident while engineers continue to assess the extent of the damage. It stressed that the fire had not compromised its ability to provide mortgage and housing finance services to customers across the country.

FMBN further reassured customers that its headquarters remains open for normal business, noting that appropriate business continuity and mitigation measures were activated immediately after the incident to minimise any disruption to operations. The bank urged customers and stakeholders to remain calm as recovery efforts continue.

The management expressed appreciation to the Federal Fire Service, the FCT Fire Service, the Nigeria Police Force, members of staff and other stakeholders whose swift response helped contain the blaze. It added that further updates would be provided as investigations progress.
