FHA Secures Land in 28 States for Affordable Housing Expansion
The Federal Housing Authority has secured land in 28 states to support the development of affordable housing projects, aiming to reduce the housing deficit and increase access to decent accommodation for Nigerians.
The Federal Housing Authority (FHA) has secured parcels of land across 28 states as part of plans to expand access to affordable housing and address Nigeria’s growing housing deficit.
The authority said the acquisition forms part of a broader strategy to increase housing development nationwide and provide more Nigerians with opportunities to own decent and affordable homes. Officials noted that the initiative will support the construction of new residential estates and housing projects in various parts of the country.
According to the FHA, the move is aimed at meeting the rising demand for housing while promoting planned urban development. The agency added that the secured land will serve as a foundation for future projects designed to cater to different income groups, particularly low- and middle-income earners.
The authority also highlighted the role of partnerships with private developers and investors in delivering the proposed housing schemes. It expressed confidence that collaboration with stakeholders would accelerate project implementation and improve housing availability.
Officials further stated that the expansion aligns with the Federal Government’s efforts to tackle accommodation challenges, stimulate economic activity, and create employment opportunities through the construction sector.
The FHA reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that housing projects are delivered in a sustainable manner, with supporting infrastructure and amenities that enhance the quality of life for residents.
