Ekiti Poll: Adeleke, Osun APC Congratulate Oyebanji

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State have congratulated Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, on his victory in the recently concluded governorship election.

Adeleke, in a congratulatory message issued on Sunday, described Oyebanji’s re-election as an indication of the confidence placed in his leadership by the people of Ekiti State.

The Osun governor said the victory reflected acceptance of Oyebanji’s first-term achievements and would provide him with the opportunity to continue implementing policies and programmes aimed at developing the state.

“My congratulations to Governor Biodun Oyebanji on his decisive victory in the recently concluded governorship election in Ekiti State. The victory is a mark of acceptance of his leadership and confidence in him to deliver more progress for the state,” Adeleke said in a statement signed by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed.

He added that the people of Ekiti were optimistic that Oyebanji’s second term would continue the impactful services recorded during his first tenure.

Meanwhile, the Osun State chapter of the APC said Oyebanji’s victory demonstrated the confidence of Ekiti residents in the party’s administration.

In a statement signed by its spokesperson, Kola Olabisi, the party described the outcome as evidence that the APC remains a preferred political platform in the South-West.

The party said the result showed that voters trusted the APC’s commitment to good governance, development and service delivery.

An APC chieftain in Osun State, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, also said the Ekiti election outcome would serve as a boost for the party ahead of the Osun governorship election scheduled for August 15, 2026.

Oyintiloye described Oyebanji’s victory as an endorsement of his performance and urged APC members in Osun to draw lessons from the result by maintaining unity and grassroots engagement.

He commended the leadership of the APC National Working Committee, led by National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda and National Secretary Senator Ajibola Basiru, for strengthening the party.

He also praised former Osun governor and Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, for sustaining the party structure in the state.

Oyebanji was declared winner of the Ekiti governorship election by the Independent National Electoral Commission after securing 319,224 votes, defeating Peoples Democratic Party candidate, Wole Oluyede, who scored 40,543 votes.
