Ebonyi Will Give 95% Votes to Tinubu in 2027 Presidential Election — Umahi
David Umahi says Ebonyi State will deliver 95% of its votes to President Bola Tinubu in 2027, citing ongoing federal projects and increased inclusion of the South-East.
The Minister of Works, David Umahi, has expressed confidence that Ebonyi State will deliver 95 per cent of its votes to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general election.
Umahi said he would work closely with Governor Francis Nwifuru to ensure massive support for the President, noting that the administration had delivered significant projects in the South-East.
He made the statement while inspecting the ongoing Abaomege/Akpoha/Afikpo road project in Ebonyi State.
According to him, no Nigerian president has executed projects on the scale currently being undertaken by Tinubu’s administration, especially in the South-East region.
He urged political and traditional leaders in the region to openly support Tinubu’s re-election bid, describing his administration as inclusive and strategic.
Umahi, a former governor of Ebonyi State, said the state would embark on an aggressive campaign to mobilise voters in support of the President.
He added that the appointment of an Igbo man as Minister of Works reflects renewed trust and inclusion of the South-East in national development.
“I have not even started shouting about the good things the President is doing in the South-East. I’m ready to engage anybody,” he said.
He further stated that Ebonyi would “shock the nation” with its level of support for Tinubu, stressing that the state has “no reason” to vote otherwise.
Umahi described the 2023 election outcome in the state as an “accident of history,” adding that it would not repeat itself.
He said the administration would intensify campaigns to educate youths and elites on the benefits of aligning with the federal government.
According to him, closer collaboration with the presidency would accelerate development in the region.
