DJ Chicken Calls Seyi Tinubu 'Daddy', Uses His Photo After Release

Controversial Nigerian content creator Ademola Abiodun, popularly known as DJ Chicken, has stirred reactions on social media after changing his Instagram profile picture to that of Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Tinubu, less than 24 hours after regaining his freedom from detention.

DJ Chicken, who was released from the Kirikiri Correctional Centre after meeting his bail conditions, also shared a photo of Seyi Tinubu on his Instagram Stories with the caption, "Hmm ddddy," and posted videos showing Seyi dancing at an event and appearing alongside his wife. The posts came shortly after he publicly thanked Seyi Tinubu and the Federal Government for his release.

In a video announcing his release, DJ Chicken expressed gratitude, saying, "Freedom at last," while thanking the Nigerian government, President Tinubu and Seyi Tinubu. His latest social media activity marks a sharp contrast to the comments that led to his arrest earlier this month.

DJ Chicken had been arraigned before a Lagos Magistrate Court on charges bordering on alleged cybercrime offences, breach of peace and making alleged threats against Seyi Tinubu following a viral video linked to comments about the 2027 presidential election. Although he later apologised and said the remarks were made as a joke to attract online attention, he was remanded before eventually meeting his bail conditions. The case has been adjourned until August 3, 2026.
