The Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr Samuel Ogbuku, has urged local and foreign investors to take advantage of the vast economic opportunities in the Niger Delta, assuring them that the region is now better positioned for investment and sustainable growth. He said the commission is implementing programmes aimed at transforming the region into a major destination for business and industrial development.

Speaking at an investment forum, Ogbuku said the Niger Delta offers enormous potential in sectors such as oil and gas, agriculture, maritime, tourism and manufacturing. He stressed that the NDDC is committed to providing critical infrastructure and creating an enabling environment that will encourage private sector participation and economic expansion across the region.

The NDDC boss explained that the commission has shifted its focus towards projects that promote economic diversification, job creation and long-term development. According to him, stronger collaboration between government, development partners and investors is essential to unlocking the region's full economic potential and improving the livelihoods of its people.

Ogbuku also highlighted ongoing interventions in roads, education, healthcare, youth empowerment and skills development, noting that these initiatives are designed to enhance the region's competitiveness and attract more investment. He assured prospective investors of the commission's support for projects that will stimulate growth and create employment opportunities.

He urged investors to look beyond the Niger Delta's oil wealth and explore opportunities in other key sectors, expressing confidence that increased investment and strategic partnerships would accelerate the region's economic transformation and contribute to national development.
