APC Claims Nasarawa Senatorial By-Election with 45,362 Votes
The APC has officially clinched the Nasarawa senatorial by-election, garnering 45,362 valid votes to defeat its political opponents.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially declared the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the newly concluded Nasarawa State senatorial by-election. In a keenly contested regional poll, the ruling party secured its legislative seat by pooling an aggregate of 45,362 votes, outstripping its closest political rivals and consolidating its structural dominance within the state assembly frameworks.
The Returning Officer for the election announced the final figures at the centralized collation center, validating that the voting process met all statutory legal provisions and guidelines.
Analysts attribute the clear victory margin to aggressive, targeted grassroots campaigning across the senatorial district, with massive voter turnouts recorded in key rural agricultural wards.
INEC field agents reported minimal hitches during the accreditation phase, stating that the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) verified identity metrics seamlessly to eliminate double-voting concerns.
Joint security task forces, comprising police command units and civil defense corps, were heavily mobilized at the polling units, effectively ensuring a peaceful environment during voting, sorting, and immediate result tallying.
The newly elected senator-elect expressed deep gratitude to the electorate, promising a focus on human capital development, agricultural expansion grants, and infrastructure revitalization for the district upon formal swearing-in at the National Assembly.
