Abiodun Commends IGP Disu for Deploying Operational Aircraft to Boost Ogun Security
Governor Abiodun praises IGP Disu for approving police aircraft deployment to strengthen surveillance and anti-crime operations in Ogun.
Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has commended the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun Disu, for approving the deployment of an operational police aircraft to enhance security operations across the state.
The governor described the swift approval as a demonstration of the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to protecting lives and property and strengthening collaboration with the Ogun State Government in the fight against crime.
The operational aircraft was deployed following a request by the state government as part of efforts to reinforce Ogun’s security architecture and intensify operations against criminal elements.
Receiving the aircraft and its crew on behalf of the state government, the Secretary to the State Government, Tokunbo Talabi, conveyed Governor Abiodun’s appreciation to the Inspector-General for responding promptly to the request.
Talabi said the deployment would significantly improve aerial surveillance, intelligence gathering and rapid response capabilities of security agencies operating in the state.
According to him, the additional air support will complement existing security measures and enhance efforts to tackle criminal activities, particularly in vulnerable areas.
He noted that the aircraft would play a critical role in supporting Operation Kosaye, the state’s joint security initiative established to combat kidnapping, banditry and other violent crimes.
The operation focuses on flushing out criminal elements from forests, border communities and other identified security flashpoints across Ogun State.
Talabi described the deployment as another milestone in the growing partnership between the Ogun State Government and security agencies, adding that the collaboration has continued to produce positive outcomes in safeguarding residents and protecting critical infrastructure.
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting law enforcement agencies through investments in equipment, logistics and other resources required to improve operational effectiveness.
The state government also assured residents that security remains a top priority and that every available measure would be deployed to sustain peace and public safety.
Governor Abiodun reiterated that his administration would continue to provide the necessary assistance to security agencies to enable them to effectively discharge their constitutional responsibilities.
He stressed that maintaining a secure environment remains essential for attracting investment, protecting communities and promoting sustainable economic growth across Ogun State.
The deployment of the operational aircraft is expected to strengthen ongoing security operations and improve the ability of law enforcement agencies to respond quickly to emerging threats across the state.
