2027: Forgive Our Shortcomings, Support APC Again — Nwifuru
Ebonyi Governor Francis Nwifuru has urged residents to forgive his administration’s shortcomings and support the APC in 2027, acknowledging mistakes while pledging improved governance and service delivery.
Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has appealed to residents of the state to forgive the shortcomings of his administration and those of elected lawmakers, while urging continued support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.
Nwifuru made the appeal during a democracy thanksgiving service held at the Government House Chapel in Abakaliki, as part of activities marking the third anniversary of his administration.
Addressing worshippers, political leaders, government officials and religious stakeholders, the governor acknowledged that his administration, members of the National Assembly and the Ebonyi State House of Assembly may have made mistakes in the course of governance.
He urged residents to overlook those shortcomings and continue to support their elected representatives, stressing the need for unity and sustained political backing.
“Please forgive us; forgive me and the National Assembly members and the House of Assembly members. Forgive our shortcomings and vote for us again,” the governor said.
Reflecting on three years in office, Nwifuru expressed gratitude for the progress recorded by his administration, noting that governance is a continuous learning process that requires humility, patience and public cooperation.
He admitted that no government can claim perfection but assured citizens that his administration remains committed to improving service delivery, expanding infrastructure and delivering more dividends of democracy across the state.
The governor reaffirmed his commitment to sustaining ongoing development programmes aimed at improving the welfare of residents and strengthening governance structures in Ebonyi State.
The thanksgiving service was attended by prominent political figures, including former governors of the state, among them the Minister of Works, David Umahi, and Martin Elechi. Serving senators, top government officials and other stakeholders also attended the event.
