Yilwatda Says Winning Osun Governorship Election Is Non-Negotiable for APC

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has declared that securing victory in the 2026 Osun State governorship election is a top priority for the ruling party. He urged party members to remain united and intensify grassroots mobilisation to reclaim the state from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Speaking during a meeting with party leaders and supporters in Osun State, Yilwatda expressed confidence in the APC's chances, citing the party's growing support across the state. He said internal unity, effective campaigning and sustained engagement with voters would be crucial to achieving success at the polls.

The APC chairman also called on members to set aside personal differences and work collectively towards a common objective. According to him, divisions within the party would only benefit the opposition, stressing that every stakeholder has a role to play in ensuring victory in the governorship election.

Yilwatda maintained that the APC remains committed to presenting policies and programmes that address the needs of Osun residents. He added that the party would continue strengthening its structures across the state while preparing for a competitive and peaceful election campaign.

His remarks come as political activities intensify ahead of the 2026 governorship election, with both the APC and PDP stepping up consultations and mobilisation efforts in anticipation of the contest.
