Wike Welcomes Governor Fubara Back Into Political Family

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has publicly welcomed Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara back into what he described as the political family, signalling a further easing of tensions after months of political disagreements between the two leaders. Wike said reconciliation was necessary to restore unity and ensure the continued development of Rivers State.

Speaking during a gathering attended by political stakeholders, Wike said the period of conflict had come to an end and urged supporters on both sides to embrace peace. He stressed that political differences should not be allowed to undermine governance or the collective interest of the people of Rivers State.

The former Rivers governor also called on party members and political associates to put the past behind them and work together in support of the state's progress. According to him, unity within the political family is essential for delivering good governance and maintaining stability ahead of future political activities.

Governor Fubara's reconciliation with Wike follows months of efforts by key political leaders and national stakeholders to resolve the crisis that had divided the state's political structure. The renewed relationship is expected to reduce political tension and strengthen cooperation between both camps.

The development has attracted mixed reactions from political observers, with some describing it as a positive step towards lasting peace in Rivers politics, while others believe the reconciliation will be tested by future political developments.
