Tinubu: My Government Is Determined to Secure, Unite Nigerians
President Bola Tinubu says his administration remains committed to securing Nigeria and preserving national unity despite growing challenges.
President Bola Tinubu says his administration is committed to achieving sustainable security and maintaining unity in Nigeria despite the country’s security and socio-economic challenges.
Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin conveyed the President’s message on Tuesday in Abuja at the International Conference on National Security for Socio-economic Development.
The conference was organised by Jama’atu Izalatil Bidiah wa Iqamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS Nigeria) in collaboration with the Muslim World League of Saudi Arabia.
Nigeria continues to face security challenges including terrorism, insurgency, banditry, kidnapping and communal conflicts.
Jibrin said the Tinubu administration was working to address the challenges while ensuring that the country remained united.
He said the conference was being held at a critical period when Nigeria and other countries were dealing with increasingly complex security threats.
Jibrin said Tinubu had assured the organisers of the Federal Government’s commitment to strengthening sustainable security in Nigeria and supporting global peace efforts.
He added that the government was working with other countries to address security threats and promote international peace.
According to him, the conference would provide an opportunity for participants to examine emerging threats to national and international security and develop practical solutions.
“The government is determined to make sure that we remain united in our country despite our differences,” Jibrin said.
He urged participants to use the conference to share experiences and examine practical approaches to achieving lasting peace.
Jibrin also commended the Muslim World League for choosing Nigeria to host the conference and JIBWIS Nigeria for partnering on the event.
He expressed confidence that the discussions would contribute to efforts to address Nigeria’s security challenges and strengthen peace across the country.
