Tinubu Is Citizen of Osun — Joe Igbokwe on Why APC Will Take Over

Ahead of Saturday’s governorship election, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Joe Igbokwe, has declared that Osun State belongs to the ruling party.

Igbokwe made the assertion in a post shared on his official Facebook page on Wednesday.

According to him, the political dynamics in the state, coupled with President Bola Tinubu’s status as a native of Osun, give the APC an advantage ahead of the election.

He said the President’s connection to the state was one of the factors that could strengthen the party’s position at the polls.

“To all intents and purposes, and given the current situation, the political dynamics, and PBAT’s factor as a bona fide citizen of Osun State, I make bold to say that Osun is APC. Take it to any bank of your choice,” Igbokwe wrote.

His comment came just days before the August 15 governorship election, with the APC and Accord Party emerging as the major contenders.

The incumbent governor, Ademola Adeleke, has repeatedly alleged that the ruling party has been using federal power to intimidate leaders and supporters of the Accord Party ahead of the poll.

The election has been preceded by heightened political tensions and allegations of violence and intimidation involving supporters of rival political parties.

Igbokwe’s declaration adds to the growing political exchanges ahead of Saturday’s election, with both the APC and Accord Party seeking to mobilise voters and secure victory in the state.
