Russia Says Ukrainian Drone Attack Kills Seven at Logistics Centre
Russian officials say a Ukrainian drone strike on a logistics centre in Kotovsk killed seven people and injured 24 others. The attack is among the deadliest reported inside Russia in recent months and comes amid intensified cross-border drone operations by both sides.
Russian authorities say at least seven people were killed and 24 others injured after a Ukrainian drone strike targeted a logistics centre in the western Russian city of Kotovsk, marking one of the deadliest cross-border attacks reported by Moscow in recent months. The strike reportedly triggered a fire at the facility, with emergency services deployed to contain the blaze and assist victims.
According to Russian officials, the logistics centre was struck during an overnight drone attack, while air defence systems intercepted several other drones targeting different regions of the country, including areas around Moscow. Authorities said investigations into the incident were ongoing as emergency responders continued search and recovery operations.
Ukraine did not immediately comment on the reported attack. Since the start of the war, Kyiv has intensified long-range drone operations against military and logistical infrastructure inside Russia, arguing that such strikes are aimed at weakening Moscow's ability to sustain its military campaign. Russia has repeatedly condemned the attacks, describing them as acts targeting civilian infrastructure.
The latest incident comes as fighting between the two countries continues to escalate, with both sides carrying out regular missile and drone attacks on each other's territory. The conflict has increasingly expanded beyond frontline areas, resulting in repeated strikes on infrastructure and populated locations in both Russia and Ukraine.
