Osun Election: Wait for Trump to Help Your Uncle Win — Bashir Ahmad Mocks Davido
Bashir Ahmad mocks Davido, sarcastically suggesting Trump could deploy troops to help his uncle win Osun election.
Spokesman of the City Boys Movement, Bashir Ahmad, has mocked Afrobeats singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, over his call for United States President Donald Trump to pay attention to the August 15 Osun State governorship election.
Davido had on Tuesday urged Trump to take an interest in the election, which will determine the next governor of the state.
Reacting in a post on his verified X handle, Ahmad, a former presidential aide, sarcastically asked the singer to wait for Trump to deploy troops to help his uncle win the election.
“Will you not wait for President Trump to send troops and help your uncle win the election?” Ahmad wrote.
The comment was directed at Davido’s support for his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, who is seeking re-election in the Osun governorship poll.
Ahmad and Davido have engaged in an increasingly heated exchange on social media in recent weeks, with both sides trading political comments ahead of the election.
The former presidential aide had previously expressed confidence that Davido would return to X to complain about the outcome of the election.
The latest exchange adds to the growing social media rivalry surrounding the Osun election, as political parties and prominent personalities intensify their campaigns and mobilise supporters ahead of Saturday’s poll.
