Osun APC Must End Blame Game, Rebuild for 2027, Chieftain Says
APC chieftain Olatunbosun Oyintiloye has urged party leaders in Osun to stop blaming individuals for the party’s governorship election defeat and instead conduct an honest assessment to prepare for the 2027 elections.
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Osun, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has urged party leaders and members to end the post-election blame game and begin rebuilding ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Oyintiloye made the call while speaking with journalists in Osogbo on Sunday.
He said the party should undertake a comprehensive assessment of its performance rather than apportion blame for its defeat in the governorship election.
According to him, electoral outcomes are influenced by several factors, including candidate appeal, grassroots mobilisation, party cohesion, campaign strategy and voter sentiment.
He urged the APC to conduct a thorough review of its performance from the polling-unit level to the state structure.
Oyintiloye said constructive criticism was necessary for the growth of the party but warned against criticism motivated by anger, personal grievances or political vendettas.
He urged party leaders to reconnect with grassroots members, listen to their concerns and develop strategies capable of restoring public confidence.
“The 2027 general election is already very close,” he said, urging members to begin the rebuilding process immediately.
The APC chieftain described the governorship defeat as a temporary setback, noting that political fortunes could change.
INEC declared Governor Ademola Adeleke winner of the election after he polled 511,067 votes against APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji’s 444,815 votes.
