Morgan Gibbs-White Reacts To England World Cup Snub After Awoniyi Backing
Morgan Gibbs-White has expressed disappointment after being left out of England’s World Cup squad by manager Thomas Tuchel, despite a strong Premier League season with Nottingham Forest and public praise from teammates and supporters.
Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White has responded to his omission from England’s World Cup squad after Super Eagles striker Taiwo Awoniyi previously praised him as a player capable of shining on football’s biggest stage.
Awoniyi had earlier spoken highly of Gibbs-White and teammate Elliot Anderson, saying he looked forward to seeing both players at the World Cup following their impressive performances for Forest this season.
However, England manager Thomas Tuchel left Gibbs-White out of his final squad despite the midfielder enjoying a strong campaign in the Premier League.
Reacting to the decision, Gibbs-White admitted his disappointment and suggested he believed his performances deserved greater recognition. The Forest star has been one of the club’s standout players this season, contributing goals and assists as they secured another year in the top flight.
The omission has generated debate among supporters and pundits, with several high-profile players also missing out on England’s final squad for the tournament.
