JAMB Releases 2026 UTME Mop-Up Results, Begins Candidate Ranking for Admissions
The examination body said the mop-up results are now available through official channels, with ranking and admission-related result processing scheduled to commence ahead of the 2026 academic admission exercise.
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the results of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) mop-up exercise conducted for affected candidates.
The announcement was made on Tuesday by JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Fabian Benjamin, who said candidates who participated in the exercise can now access their results through the board’s approved result-checking platforms.
Benjamin explained that the release of the results marks the completion of the mop-up examination process, adding that the board would immediately begin the next stage of preparing candidates for admission consideration.
“Following the successful conclusion of the mop-up exercise and the release of the results, the Board will commence the ranking of candidates,” he said.
He added that the printing of results for admission purposes is expected to begin before the weekend, allowing institutions to proceed with their admission processes.
The JAMB spokesperson commended candidates and other stakeholders for their patience and cooperation throughout the examination period, noting that the board remained committed to ensuring a smooth and credible assessment process.
The mop-up examination was conducted on Saturday, June 13, 2026, as a final opportunity for candidates who had completed biometric verification for the main UTME but were unable to participate due to technical challenges, biometric difficulties, or other disruptions experienced at examination centres.
The 2026 UTME main examination was held between April 16 and April 25, 2026, with thousands of candidates participating nationwide as part of the annual admission process into Nigerian tertiary institutions.
The mop-up exercise was introduced to address genuine cases where candidates were prevented from taking the examination despite completing the required registration and verification procedures.
With the release of the results, JAMB is expected to proceed with its admission coordination responsibilities, including the ranking of candidates based on performance and other admission requirements.
The board has continued to emphasise the importance of maintaining transparency, fairness, and credibility in the UTME process as candidates seek admission into universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education across Nigeria.
Candidates are advised to confirm their results through official JAMB channels and follow subsequent announcements regarding admission procedures and timelines.
