EPL Arteta Joins 250-Game Club, Ranks Fourth in Win Percentage
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has reached 250 Premier League games in charge, becoming only the ninth manager to reach the milestone with one club. He ranks fourth among managers with 250 Premier League games for a single club by win percentage.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has joined an elite group of Premier League managers after taking charge of his 250th league match for the club.
Arteta reached the milestone during Arsenal’s 1-0 victory over Aston Villa at Villa Park on Monday.
The Spaniard becomes only the ninth manager to oversee 250 Premier League matches for a single club and the second Arsenal manager to achieve the feat after Arsène Wenger.
Arteta went into the landmark fixture with a record of 150 wins, 48 draws and 51 defeats from his previous 249 Premier League matches, giving him a 60.2 per cent win rate.
Following the victory over Villa, his win percentage improved to about 60.4 per cent.
Among managers to reach 250 Premier League games with one club, only Pep Guardiola, Sir Alex Ferguson and Jürgen Klopp have recorded better win percentages.
Guardiola leads the ranking with 70.8 per cent, followed by Ferguson on 65.2 per cent and Klopp on 62.6 per cent.
Arteta's milestone comes after a remarkable transformation of Arsenal since his appointment in December 2019.
He inherited a side that finished eighth in his first two full seasons but gradually rebuilt the team into Premier League title contenders.
The Gunners eventually won the Premier League title last season, ending a 22-year wait for the championship.
Arteta's achievement also places him among managers with the longest and most successful spells at a single Premier League club.
The Arsenal manager will now look to build on the milestone as his side begins its title defence and seeks further success domestically and in Europe.
