Ekiti Election: Mark, Aregbesola Slam APC, Urge Residents to Vote ADC
ADC leaders David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola have urged Ekiti voters to support the party’s governorship candidate, alleging poor performance by the APC-led administration in the state.
The National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress, David Mark, and the party’s National Secretary, Rauf Aregbesola, have criticised the ruling All Progressives Congress in Ekiti State, urging residents to vote for the ADC in Saturday’s governorship election.
The party leaders spoke on Thursday in Ado Ekiti during a mega rally organised in support of the ADC governorship candidate, Dare Bejide.
Addressing party supporters and residents, Mark described the ADC as the credible alternative capable of improving the lives of Ekiti people and delivering the development they desire.
He called on voters across the state to support Bejide at the polls.
“Vote for our candidate, Bejide, so that the Ekiti of your dream can be built. Give your votes to ADC,” Mark said.
The former Senate President also expressed confidence in the party’s ability to provide effective leadership and tackle challenges confronting the state.
According to him, the ADC and its candidate remain well-positioned to offer a new direction for Ekiti and address issues affecting residents.
“This party with its candidate, Ambassador Dare Bejide, remains the only group capable of salvaging Ekiti from the claws of poverty,” he stated.
Also speaking at the rally, Aregbesola criticised the performance of the APC-led administration in the state and argued that the ruling party had failed to meet the expectations of the people.
The former governor of Osun State dismissed suggestions that the ADC lacked the capacity to challenge the APC in the election, insisting that the true measure of political strength would be determined by voters on election day.
“We will meet at the poll. The APC has failed at the three tiers of government,” Aregbesola said.
He maintained that the ADC would emerge victorious if the electoral process was conducted in a free and fair manner, adding that the party enjoyed growing support among residents.
Aregbesola further urged women and other eligible voters to participate actively in the election and ensure that their votes count.
The rally attracted party members, supporters and political stakeholders who gathered to mobilise support for the ADC candidate ahead of Saturday’s governorship poll in Ekiti State.
