Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has announced an exclusive live premiere date for his highly anticipated new album, "Oriade," setting August 11 as the day fans in London will get the first opportunity to experience the project performed live.

The Grammy-nominated singer broke the news via his official X account, inviting fans to join him at the O2 Forum Kentish Town in London for what he described as a special one-off show. According to his announcement, the event will mark the first and only chance for fans to hear "Oriade" performed live before its wider release, and he confirmed that tickets for the show are already on sale.

The London premiere adds a fresh layer of anticipation to what has already been a carefully built rollout for the project. Davido had earlier informed his fans that "Oriade," his sixth studio album, is scheduled for official release on July 31 , meaning the London show will effectively double as an early, intimate preview just under two weeks after the album drops.

The singer has revealed that the album carries deep personal significance, arriving as it does to mark 15 years since he first broke into the music industry. Speaking to Billboard about the milestone, he reflected on the leap of faith he took at the very start of his career, recalling that he trusted his instincts about music being his calling long before he could see where that path would lead, and noting that the biggest rewards often come from betting on oneself even without a clear destination in sight.

That reflective, milestone-driven energy appears to be woven into the album itself. The project's lead single, "I Know Who I Be," featuring South African producers Jazzwrld and GL Ceejay, has already been released and offers fans an early indication of the sonic direction "Oriade" is taking. Early reception to the single suggests a project rooted firmly in identity and self-affirmation, themes that align closely with the anniversary framing Davido has given the album.

Industry watchers note that "Oriade," a 13-track project, represents a deliberate creative shift for the artist. Rather than continuing to lean into the heavily pop-influenced, cross-over sound that has characterised some of his more recent output aimed at global audiences, the new album appears to mark a conscious return to his original, high-energy African sound — the sonic identity that first established him as one of the continent's leading afrobeats exports.

The album follows Davido's 2025 project "5ive," which achieved notable commercial success and secured a spot on the Billboard charts, further cementing his status as one of the genre's most consistent global hitmakers. With "Oriade," the singer appears keen to build on that momentum while simultaneously paying tribute to the journey that brought him to this point in his career.

The London premiere is expected to draw significant attention from fans across the UK and beyond, particularly given the city's status as one of the most important international markets for afrobeats music. The genre has enjoyed sustained growth in the United Kingdom over the past decade, with London in particular serving as a cultural hub for the Nigerian and wider West African diaspora. A live album premiere in such a prominent venue is likely to reinforce Davido's standing as one of the genre's most bankable live performers internationally.

As anticipation builds toward both the July 31 release date and the August 11 London show, fans and industry observers alike will be watching closely to see how "Oriade" is received , both as a milestone marking a decade and a half of Davido's career, and as a statement of artistic direction for the years ahead.
