Ghana Cocoa Board records highest cocoa bean purchases in five years
The Ghana Cocoa Board says it purchased 850,000 metric tonnes of cocoa beans in the 2024/25 main crop season, the highest volume in five years.
The Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) has announced it purchased 850,000 metric tonnes of cocoa beans in the 2024/25 main crop season — the highest volume in five years.
Chief Executive Joseph Boahen Aidoo said the strong outturn vindicated the board's investment in the High-Tech Programme, which has distributed over 150 million hybrid seedlings.
Ghana remains the world's second-largest cocoa producer.
