2027: Any Vote For APC Is For Terrorists To Continue — Aisha Yesufu
Aisha Yesufu has urged Nigerians to obtain their PVCs ahead of 2027, alleging that voting for the APC would allow insecurity to persist nationwide.
Human rights activist and former Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) senatorial aspirant for the Federal Capital Territory, Aisha Yesufu, has urged Nigerians to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), saying participation in the electoral process remains critical ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Yesufu made the call in a statement posted on her verified X account on Sunday amid growing concerns over insecurity across the country.
The activist, who is also a co-convener of the BringBackOurGirls Movement, linked the forthcoming elections to the country’s security situation, arguing that citizens have a responsibility to determine the nation’s future through the ballot.
She alleged that voting for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) would amount to allowing insecurity to persist.
“Any vote for APC is vote for these terrorists to continue what they are doing,” she stated.
Yesufu also encouraged all eligible Nigerians aged 18 years and above to register and obtain their Permanent Voter Cards, stressing that meaningful political change can only be achieved through active participation in the electoral process.
According to her, the transformation many Nigerians desire is attainable if citizens fully utilise their voting rights during elections.
Her comments come against the backdrop of renewed concerns over insecurity, including incidents of killings, kidnappings and other violent attacks reported in different parts of the country.
The remarks also add to the growing political discourse ahead of the 2027 general elections, with opposition figures and civil society groups continuing to urge citizens to participate actively in the democratic process.
As of the time of filing this report, the All Progressives Congress had not issued any official response to Yesufu’s comments.
