Troops of the Nigerian military’s Operation Hadin Kai have neutralised 15 suspected terrorists in a precision air strike near Pulka, in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State.

The operation was conducted at about 11:50 p.m. on Friday, October 23, following intelligence reports and confirmed sightings of terrorist movements in the area.

The Acting Military Information Officer of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation Hadin Kai, Captain Mohammed Goni, disclosed the development in a statement issued on Saturday.

According to Goni, the air strike was followed by ground operations to assess the area and consolidate the gains recorded during the engagement.

He said the operation demonstrated the importance of intelligence-led targeting and coordinated military action in disrupting terrorist movements and weakening their operational capabilities.

Goni added that the strike formed part of sustained offensive operations aimed at restricting the activities of armed groups and preventing them from threatening communities across the North-East.

He said troops continued to apply intelligence gathering and coordinated military resources to maintain pressure on terrorist elements and improve the security situation in affected areas.

The military reiterated its commitment to combating terrorism and insurgency, protecting civilians and creating conditions for normal economic and social activities to resume in communities affected by insecurity.

It assured residents that troops would sustain ongoing operations with vigilance and professionalism.

The Theatre Command also called on members of the public to provide security agencies with timely and credible information about suspicious movements and activities.

It emphasised that cooperation between security forces and local communities remained essential to sustaining operational gains and achieving lasting peace across the North-East.
