Ronaldo: Portuguese FA Plans Peace Meeting With Star Next Week — Reports

The Portuguese Football Federation is reportedly planning a meeting with Cristiano Ronaldo next week in an effort to resolve the disagreement between the Portugal captain and head coach Jorge Jesus.

According to reports, federation officials want to reopen dialogue with Ronaldo following his unexpected departure from the national team camp in Copenhagen earlier this week.

Ronaldo left the camp after he was not used in Portugal’s Nations League victory over Norway and after Jesus indicated that the forward would not start against Denmark. The 41-year-old later said he would explain the reasons for his decision to leave at a later time.

The Portuguese FA is reportedly seeking Ronaldo’s agreement for a meeting aimed at bringing the player, Jesus and the federation closer together.

The situation has raised questions about Ronaldo’s future with the national team, particularly with Portugal’s next international fixtures approaching.

The federation is understood to be keen on resolving the disagreement without allowing the situation to end Ronaldo’s international career abruptly.

Portugal subsequently defeated Denmark 4-2 without Ronaldo, with João Cancelo, Gonçalo Ramos, Vitinha and João Félix scoring for the European champions.

The reported meeting would give both sides an opportunity to address the disagreement and discuss Ronaldo’s future with the national team.

However, reports indicate that the meeting has not been officially confirmed by the Portuguese FA, and it remains unclear whether it will take place in person.

Ronaldo remains Portugal’s all-time leading scorer and most-capped player, making the dispute a significant issue for the national team.
