Police Service records 30% reduction in armed robbery cases in Accra
The Ghana Police Service says armed robbery incidents in the Greater Accra Region fell by 30 per cent in 2024, attributing the decline to community policing.
The Ghana Police Service has reported a 30 per cent reduction in armed robbery incidents in the Greater Accra Region in 2024 compared to the previous year, attributing the decline to enhanced community policing and targeted operations.
Inspector General of Police Dr. George Akuffo Dampare said the results demonstrated that sustained community engagement could make a tangible difference.
"These figures show that our strategies are working and Accra is becoming safer," the IGP said.
