Oyebanji Pledges Shared Prosperity in Bid for Second Term in Ekiti
Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has pledged to deepen inclusive development and improve residents’ welfare if re-elected for a second term. He said his administration would continue to prioritise infrastructure, economic growth and opportunities for people across the state.
Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has pledged to pursue shared prosperity and expand development opportunities across the state if re-elected for a second term in the 2026 governorship election.
Oyebanji said his administration remained committed to improving the living conditions of residents through policies and projects designed to promote economic growth, strengthen public infrastructure and ensure that the benefits of governance reached communities across Ekiti.
The governor’s pledge comes as political activities intensify ahead of the governorship election, with candidates and their supporters seeking to present their records and policy priorities to voters.
Oyebanji has consistently identified infrastructure development, education, healthcare, agriculture and economic empowerment as key areas of focus for his administration. His second-term agenda is expected to build on existing programmes while addressing challenges affecting livelihoods and public services.
The governor has also emphasised the importance of cooperation between the government, private sector and local communities in driving development and creating opportunities for young people and other groups.
His promise of shared prosperity reflects a commitment to ensuring that economic progress translates into improved welfare for residents rather than remaining concentrated in a limited number of sectors or locations.
As the election approaches, the administration’s performance and proposed plans are likely to feature prominently in public discussions, alongside competing parties’ positions on development, governance and accountability.
Oyebanji is seeking another term in office, with his campaign centred on continuing his administration’s programmes and sustaining development across Ekiti State.
