Ekiti Governor Biodun Oyebanji has congratulated Minister of Solid Minerals Development Dele Alake on his 70th birthday, praising his contributions to national development, journalism and democracy.
Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has congratulated the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Mr Dele Alake, on his 70th birthday, describing him as a distinguished son of the state who has made significant contributions to national development.
Oyebanji, in a statement issued on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Media, Mr Yinka Oyebode, said Alake had made Ekiti proud through his contributions to public service, journalism and the advancement of democracy.
The governor commended the minister’s role in supporting the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda, particularly through efforts to strengthen the country’s non-oil revenue base.
He also praised Alake’s career as a journalist and communicator, noting his contribution to human rights advocacy and democratic development.
Oyebanji described the minister as one of those who played important roles in the restoration of democracy through advocacy in the media during the years of military rule, despite the risks associated with such activities.
He highlighted Alake’s career progression from reporter and editor to media manager, administrator and public servant.
The governor recalled that Alake served as Commissioner for Information and Strategy in Lagos State and later as Special Adviser on Communication to the President before his appointment as Minister of Solid Minerals Development.
Oyebanji said Alake had continued to project the image of Ekiti positively through his professional achievements and contributions to the development of the state and the country.
“Ekiti will always be proud of the Minister for positively projecting the image of the state and contributing to its growth and development,” he said.
The governor prayed for Alake to enjoy long life, good health and continued wisdom to make further contributions to the country and humanity.
“On behalf of the Government and good people of Ekiti State, I congratulate my dear brother, the Honourable Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Mr Dele Alake, as he turns 70 today,” Oyebanji said.
He wished the minister greater success in his continued service to the country.
