Ogun to Deliver 2m Votes for Tinubu in 2027, Yayi Says
APC governorship candidate in Ogun, Solomon Adeola, says the state will target at least two million votes for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 election, citing federal projects and interventions.
The All Progressives Congress APC governorship candidate in Ogun State, Senator Solomon Adeola, has said the state will target at least two million votes for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, made the declaration on Saturday at the inauguration of the CityBoy Movement in Ogun State, saying the target would demonstrate the state’s appreciation for projects and interventions by the Tinubu administration.
He said Ogun had about 3.01 million registered voters and should therefore be able to mobilise no fewer than two million votes for the President.
Adeola listed several federal projects in the state as evidence of the benefits of the Tinubu administration, including the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road, Sokoto-Badagry Road and the ongoing rehabilitation of the Sagamu-Benin Expressway.
He also said federal investments in the state’s infrastructure and natural resources would contribute to economic growth, expressing optimism that Ogun’s internally generated revenue could rise significantly as development projects progress.
The APC candidate disclosed that oil had recently been discovered at two locations in Ogun, adding that exploration was expected to begin soon.
According to him, the discovery had also led President Tinubu to approve the establishment of a naval base in the state to provide security for emerging oil infrastructure.
Also speaking at the event, the Minister of State for Health, Dr Iziaq Salako, urged young Nigerians to participate actively in the country’s political process and take responsibility for determining its future.
Salako described the Tinubu administration’s policies and projects as investments in the future of young Nigerians and urged residents to support the APC and its candidate in the 2027 elections.
The Ogun State Coordinator of the CityBoy Movement, Kakorudeen Yusuf, said the organisation was committed to creating opportunities for young people to contribute meaningfully to governance and public affairs.
The CityBoy Movement is mobilising grassroots support for Tinubu’s re-election ahead of the 2027 general election.
