Leo Stan Ekeh Foundation Donates AI Tech Centres to Two Lagos Schools
The Leo Stan Ekeh Foundation, in collaboration with the Zinox Group, has commissioned state-of-the-art Artificial Intelligence Technology Centres at Gbagada Senior Grammar School and Lanre Awolokun High School in Lagos. Each centre is equipped with Zinox all-in-one computers, interactive AI-enabled screens, 24-hour renewable energy systems, and two years of Starlink internet connectivity, as the foundation pledges full university scholarships for outstanding students.
The Leo Stan Ekeh Foundation (LSEF), in collaboration with businesses within the Zinox Group, including Task Systems, TD Africa, Zinox Technologies Limited, and Konga Group, has commissioned state-of-the-art Artificial Intelligence (AI) Technology Centres at Gbagada Senior Grammar School and Lanre Awolokun High School, both in Gbagada, Lagos State.
The newly inaugurated facilities are designed to integrate modern computing and digital learning into everyday education, providing students and teachers with access to cutting-edge technology and online educational resources. Each centre features Zinox all-in-one desktop computers, large interactive AI-enabled screens, 24-hour renewable energy solutions provided by iPower, and two years of high-speed satellite internet connectivity via Starlink to bridge classrooms to global digital resources. The renewable energy systems are designed to provide electricity around the clock, addressing one of the infrastructure challenges affecting technology-enabled education in Nigerian schools.
Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, the Chairman of Zinox Group and founder of the Foundation, Mr. Leo Stan Ekeh, expressed gratitude to the school communities for their warm reception and commended their commitment to education. He urged the students to embrace patience, discipline, and hard work as essential ingredients for success, while encouraging them to leverage the new technology platforms to drive positive disruption and become the nation's next generation of wealth creators. "This is my prayer for you, as I now see myself as part of these two schools," Ekeh said.
Ekeh also made a passionate appeal to the Federal Government and subnational governments to prioritise education and ensure that knowledge workers rank among the highest-paid professionals in the country. "An angry or hungry teacher cannot deliver quality content to students. We must consciously raise the quality of education to save this nation," he stated. He emphasised that better-supported educators are essential to raising the quality of learning in Nigeria.
As part of efforts to identify and nurture exceptional talent, Ekeh pledged that students who distinguish themselves academically and graduate with outstanding results would receive full scholarships and access to exclusive world-class technology training designed to prepare them for opportunities on the global stage. The foundation also announced plans to provide full university scholarships and advanced technology training to students who distinguish themselves academically.
According to the Director of Studies at the Leo Stan Ekeh Foundation, Dr. George Emetuche, the organisation is working towards producing 1,000 technology-skilled young Nigerians with globally recognised qualifications. The first group of scholarship beneficiaries has already secured admission to study computer science and computer engineering at universities across Nigeria, with the foundation planning to formally announce the beneficiaries at a later date.
The Gbagada initiative marks the latest milestone in a 38-year legacy of philanthropic technology interventions by the Leo Stan Ekeh Foundation, which has successfully executed 123 education and technology projects across primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions nationwide. Past initiatives include equipping digital ICT centres at Imo State University, St. Augustine University in Epe, Federal University Birnin Kebbi, Bakambara Day Secondary School in Kebbi State, and Holy Ghost College in Owerri, Imo State. Earlier in 2026, the foundation also inaugurated an AI technology centre at Holy Ghost College, Ekeh's former school, providing students with computers, interactive learning equipment, and internet connectivity.
The two new Lagos centres extend these efforts by introducing AI-enabled learning infrastructure at the secondary school level, potentially allowing students to develop foundational digital skills before progressing to higher education and specialised technology training. The initiative also highlights the growing role of private-sector investment in expanding access to artificial intelligence education in Nigeria, particularly in schools where access to modern computing equipment, reliable electricity, and high-speed internet remains a challenge.
For students and teachers at Gbagada Senior Grammar School and Lanre Awolokun High School, the new AI technology centres represent far more than an infrastructure upgrade. They are a gateway to the digital economy, a platform for developing the skills that will define the future of work, and a testament to the transformative power of strategic philanthropy in Nigerian education. As Ekeh reminded the students, success requires patience, discipline, and hard work—but with the right tools and the right mindset, they can become the wealth creators and global citizens that Nigeria urgently needs.
