Kebbi State Governor Commends Collaborative Effort Following Rescue of Kidnapped Oyo Students and Teachers
Governor Idris stressed that the breakthrough serves as proof that insecurity can be effectively tackled when federal, state, and community institutions work in tandem.
The Governor of Kebbi State, Nasir Idris, has praised President Bola Tinubu, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, and national security agencies following the successful rescue of schoolchildren and educators abducted in Oyo State.
Governor Idris described the operation as a major triumph against criminality, noting that it underscored the shared commitment of both federal and state governments to protecting Nigerian citizens.
In an official statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Ahmed Idris, the governor lauded the tactical coordination that ensured the victims were brought back safely after 56 days in captivity.
"I commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Seyi Makinde, and the security agencies for their tireless efforts in ensuring that the children and their teachers were rescued alive," the statement read.
"This achievement is a testament to the commitment of the government and our security personnel to protecting the lives of Nigerians."
Expressing solidarity with the affected families, Governor Idris noted that the synchronized efforts of the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigerian Army, and other key stakeholders restore public confidence in national security. He maintained that joint action remains the most viable strategy for dismantling criminal networks and safeguarding educational institutions across the country.
Additionally, the governor recognized the Nigeria Union of Teachers for its unwavering support of its members during the crisis, while calling on citizens to consistently provide security operatives with actionable intelligence to aid crime prevention.
