Katsina Flags Off Conditional Cash Transfer, 3,000 Households Benefit in Kaita LGA

The Katsina State Coordinator of the National Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) programme, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Faskari, has disclosed that 3,000 low-income households have already benefited from the scheme across the state, as the programme was formally flagged off in Kaita Local Government Area.

Speaking at the flag-off event in Kaita, where more than 300 beneficiaries received cash tokens designed to augment their economic value and improve their social standing and family welfare, Faskari explained that the CCT programme is being implemented nationwide and remains devoid of any political or tribal considerations in its selection and disbursement process.

According to Faskari, the essence of the programme is to raise the economic status of Nigerians whose income falls below average amid the current global economic challenges affecting household purchasing power and livelihoods across the country. The Kaita Local Government Area flag-off represents part of this broader, phased approach to reaching eligible low-income households across the state's various local government areas.

The CCT coordinator expressed profound gratitude to Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, for providing support to the programme and for guaranteeing the level of efficiency and sufficiency required to ensure its successful implementation at the state level.
