Humphries, Price Set for World Grand Prix Final in Leicester

Former champions Luke Humphries and Gerwyn Price will meet in the final of the 2026 World Grand Prix darts tournament in Leicester on Sunday.

Price, the 2020 champion, booked his place in the final after defeating Nathan Aspinall 5-2 in Saturday’s semi-final, while Humphries overcame two-time champion James Wade 5-3.

The final will be a repeat of the 2023 showpiece, when Humphries defeated Price 6-5 to claim his first World Grand Prix title.

Humphries has now reached the final for a record fourth consecutive year. He lost to Mike De Decker in the 2024 final before suffering a heavy defeat to Luke Littler in last year’s title match.

The Englishman reached this year’s final after producing consistent performances throughout the tournament. He defeated James Wade 5-3 in the semi-final after earlier wins over Niels Zonneveld, Jermaine Wattimena and Dave Chisnall.

Price, meanwhile, has not lost a set since the start of the tournament and defeated Sebastian Bialecki, Ross Smith, Jonny Clayton and Aspinall on his route to the final.

The Welshman is seeking his second World Grand Prix crown and his first major title since 2022.

The final, which is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. on Sunday, will be played over a first-to-six-sets format at the Mattioli Arena.

The winner will receive £150,000 from the tournament’s £750,000 total prize fund, while the runner-up will earn £80,000.

The World Grand Prix is played under a unique double-start, double-finish format, requiring players to begin and end each leg on a double or the bullseye.
