The National Association of Ogun State Students (NAOSS) has officially celebrated a landmark academic achievement by Samuel Oluolamide Adebanjo, an indigene of Isaara, Remo North, who has emerged as the Best Graduating Student of Lagos State University (LASU).

Adebanjo secured an outstanding Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.97 out of 5.00 in the 2025/2026 academic session. This remarkable feat not only makes him the top student in the Faculty of Engineering and the Department of Aerospace Engineering but also marks the third-highest CGPA recorded in the 43-year history of the institution.

In a statement signed on Saturday by the National President of NAOSS, Ààrẹ Oluwafemi Àjàyí, the student body described the achievement as "historic and globally significant," emphasizing the rigorous academic demands of Aerospace Engineering.

"Adebanjo has demonstrated that Nigerian students possess the intellectual capacity to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the best anywhere in the world," the statement read. "His accomplishment is not just a personal victory; it is a powerful statement about the quality, potential, and future of Nigerian youth."

Beyond celebrating the milestone, NAOSS has issued a strong call to action, urging the Ogun State Government, the Federal Government, the private sector, and relevant academic institutions to recognize and nurture this rare talent. The association is advocating for tangible support, including scholarships, employment opportunities, research funding, and mentorship programs to help Adebanjo maximize his potential.
