God Has Granted Me Wisdom To Continue Serving Nigerians — Tinubu
President Bola Tinubu says his prayers for wisdom and resilience during his recent Umrah in Saudi Arabia have been answered.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has said that God has granted his prayers for wisdom and resilience to continue serving Nigerians, following his recent spiritual visit to Saudi Arabia.
The President made the remarks on Monday, November 2, while speaking with journalists after performing Umrah and offering prayers at the Holy Kaaba in Makkah.
Tinubu said he felt fulfilled and grateful to Almighty Allah for the opportunity to visit the holy site, adding that he had prayed for Nigeria’s diversity to become a source of prosperity for the country.
“Well, I asked for wisdom and resilience to continue to serve the people. I know that has been granted,” he said.
The President recalled making a similar prayer before the 2023 general election, noting that he had promised to return to express gratitude after completing the pilgrimage.
He described his position as Nigeria’s President and Commander-in-Chief as a privilege granted by God, stressing that power ultimately belongs to Almighty Allah and must be exercised responsibly.
Tinubu also said his commitment to Nigeria had become stronger, expressing determination to pursue prosperity and national development with the support of the people.
“My commitment is higher, and committed to bringing prosperity. To develop the country consistently with the wish of Allah and the support of the people,” he said.
On the economy, the President expressed optimism about the direction of the country, saying the economic foundation was solid and that Nigeria had emerged from what he described as a dark tunnel.
He said sustained investment in young Nigerians was necessary to secure the country’s future, asking how present-day leaders would be remembered in the next 50 years if they failed to prepare the next generation.
Tinubu also thanked the Saudi authorities, including the King and Crown Prince, for granting him and members of the Nigerian delegation access to the Kaaba, describing the experience as historic.
He urged Nigerians to put God first, follow their consciences and remain committed to the right path towards national progress.
