Galatasaray Reject Arsenal’s Bid for Victor Osimhen

Turkish champions Galatasaray have reportedly rejected an approach from Arsenal for Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen after senior representatives of the Premier League club travelled to Istanbul in an attempt to negotiate a transfer.

According to Turkish journalist Ömer Faruk Özcan, as reported by Nexus Sports, Arsenal officials held discussions with Galatasaray executives over the possibility of signing the Nigerian international during the current transfer window.

The report claimed that Arsenal did not present a straightforward cash offer for the 27-year-old striker.

Instead, the North London club reportedly proposed a player-plus-cash arrangement that would have seen Swedish forward Viktor Gyökeres included in the deal alongside an additional €30 million.

Despite the proposal, Galatasaray are said to have rejected the offer, making it clear that they are not prepared to part with one of their most influential players.

The Turkish giants reportedly consider Osimhen a key figure in their plans for the coming season and are determined to retain his services despite growing interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs.

Osimhen has continued to attract attention following another impressive campaign, with his goalscoring ability and consistent performances reinforcing his reputation as one of Africa’s top footballers.

His form has sparked transfer speculation linking him with several leading clubs across England, Italy and Saudi Arabia.

Arsenal have been widely reported to be searching for a proven centre-forward as they continue efforts to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.

The Gunners have been linked with several attacking options in recent months as manager Mikel Arteta seeks additional firepower to boost the club’s title ambitions.

However, Galatasaray’s reported rejection suggests that any club interested in signing Osimhen may need to present a significantly improved offer before negotiations can progress.

Neither Arsenal nor Galatasaray has officially commented on the reported discussions.

Osimhen has also remained silent on the latest transfer speculation, with no indication that he is pushing for a move away from the Turkish club.

For now, the Nigerian forward remains a Galatasaray player, although interest in his signature is expected to continue throughout the transfer window as clubs seek to strengthen their attacking options before the start of the new campaign.
