Fury-Joshua Fight Tickets Sell Out Within 60 Minutes
More than 80,000 tickets for the heavyweight clash between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua have sold out within an hour of going on sale, with more than 500,000 fans reportedly waiting in an online queue.
More than 80,000 tickets for the highly anticipated heavyweight boxing contest between British rivals Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua have sold out within 60 minutes of going on sale.
The fight is scheduled for December 11 at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, with the main event expected to begin in the early hours of December 12.
Tickets went on sale at noon British Summer Time on Friday, with prices ranging from £88.50 to £13,128, including booking fees. More than 500,000 fans were reportedly waiting in the online queue to purchase tickets.
The bout, which is expected to attract a global audience, will be broadcast on Netflix. It is being promoted through a collaboration involving Turki Alalshikh’s The Ring and Ultimate Fighting Championship chief Dana White.
Despite the rapid sell-out, tickets soon appeared on resale platforms at significantly higher prices. Ringside VIP seats were advertised for as much as £73,645, while upper-tier tickets were listed at £425.
Fury, 38, and Joshua, 36, are both former two-time world champions who have long been linked to a potential showdown but have never faced each other in a professional bout.
Wembley Stadium in London and Madison Square Garden in New York were initially considered as possible venues before Cardiff was selected.
The Principality Stadium has previously hosted major boxing events, including Joe Calzaghe’s 2007 fight against Mikkel Kessler. Late-night scheduling is expected to accommodate international broadcast audiences.
The contest was announced in September following discussions over its promotion. A disagreement had emerged over White’s role in organising the event, with Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, questioning whether the arrangement was compatible with his fighter’s contract.
Fury and Joshua later appeared together at a news conference on September 30 to launch the build-up to the fight.
The two boxers are reportedly expected to share a purse worth close to $200 million, although organisers have yet to announce the undercard bouts.
The rapid ticket sales underline the substantial interest surrounding a contest between two of Britain’s most prominent heavyweight boxers, whose long-awaited meeting has attracted attention from fans worldwide.
