Fosudo Urges Traditional Media to Adopt New Digital Content Formats

Nigerian visual storyteller and content creator, Fisayo Fosudo, has called on traditional media organisations to adopt emerging digital content formats to remain relevant and attract younger audiences.

Fosudo made the call during an interview on Thursday, the second day of Moonshot 2026, organised by TechCabal at the National Theatre in Lagos.

He said established media organisations could combine their reputation, credibility and institutional experience with modern content creation techniques to reach audiences increasingly consuming information through social media platforms.

According to him, short-form videos, reels, carousels and vlogs offer opportunities for traditional media outlets to present their content in formats that appeal to younger demographics.

He noted that advances in digital tools had made content production and distribution more accessible, lowering the barriers to entry for individuals and organisations seeking to participate in the media space.

Fosudo said traditional media organisations could build on their existing strengths while adapting their storytelling and distribution strategies to changing audience preferences.

He also emphasised that the relationship between traditional media and independent content creators should be based on mutual learning rather than one sector simply adopting the practices of the other.

Having studied media innovation and worked across traditional and digital media spaces, he said both sectors had valuable experiences that could strengthen their respective approaches to storytelling and audience engagement.

Speaking about Moonshot, Fosudo described the conference as significant to Nigeria's technology industry and broader development, noting that discussions extended beyond technology to include infrastructure, innovation and forward-looking ideas.

He said the gathering provided an opportunity for people working across different sectors to exchange ideas and explore solutions relevant to Nigeria's development.

Moonshot is an annual pan-African technology conference organised by TechCabal, a technology media platform under Big Cabal Media.

The fourth edition, held from October 28 to 29, 2026, brought together technology companies, start-ups, entrepreneurs, investors, content creators and other industry stakeholders to discuss innovation, investment and business development across Africa.
