Don Jazzy Partners TS Academy to Expand Tech Training Opportunities for Young Africans
Music executive Don Jazzy has partnered with TS Academy to support scholarships, learning devices and other initiatives aimed at helping young Africans acquire digital skills and pursue careers in technology.
Nigerian music executive and Mavin Records founder, Don Jazzy, has partnered with African technology education platform TS Academy to expand access to digital skills training for young people across the continent.
The partnership will support scholarship programmes, learning-device initiatives and student empowerment efforts, particularly for aspiring technology professionals facing financial and practical barriers to training.
The initiative covers several fields, including software engineering, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data analytics, product management, design and other technology disciplines.
A major component is the Don Jazzy Tech Scholarship 2027, which will provide selected applicants with tuition support of up to 100 per cent, alongside a discount on application fees.
Additional assistance, including laptops and internet data, will be available to a limited number of enrolled students, subject to eligibility, demonstrated need and available resources.
Don Jazzy said young people should have access to different career paths and opportunities to develop their abilities, noting that technology offers another route to building a sustainable future.
He encouraged those interested in the sector to pursue relevant training and develop their skills rather than feel restricted to conventional career choices.
TS Academy founder and Chief Executive Officer, Adetola Durojaiye, said financial constraints and lack of access to essential learning devices often prevented interested students from starting or completing technology programmes.
He explained that the partnership would strengthen the academy's existing support systems by helping students overcome such challenges through scholarships, equipment and other forms of assistance.
The academy said it had awarded scholarships to more than 50,000 students across Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya and other African countries since its establishment.
It also reported that more than 50,000 aspiring technology professionals participated in its programmes across 10 countries in the past year, as it works towards a long-term target of equipping one million Africans with digital and technology skills.
Beyond classroom instruction, its programmes include mentorship, practical projects, internship opportunities and career support to help participants apply their knowledge in professional settings.
The Don Jazzy Tech Scholarship 2027 is open to interested applicants through the academy's application portal, with available courses covering different areas of the digital economy.
