Barau Expresses Confidence in Tinubu’s 2027 Re-Election Bid
Deputy Senate President Jibrin Barau has expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu will win the 2027 presidential election, urging APC members to intensify grassroots mobilisation across the country.
Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Jibrin Barau, has expressed confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s prospects in the 2027 presidential election, citing political assessments and developments within the country.
Barau spoke on Sunday during the inauguration of campaign committees for Dawakin Tofa, Tofa and Rimin Gado Local Government Areas of Kano State.
In a statement issued by his media aide, Ismail Mudashir, the senator said the foundation laid by Tinubu’s administration during its first term would produce positive results in a second term.
He urged members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to remain united and intensify mobilisation efforts to secure victory for the party’s candidates in the forthcoming general elections.
Barau commended party leaders, elected representatives, local government chairmen, Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf and other stakeholders for their support, expressing confidence that the party’s cooperation in the state would be sustained.
He described Kano as a strategically important state because of its large voting population, second only to Lagos, and said it deserved greater attention and development opportunities from the Federal Government.
The Deputy Senate President also described Governor Yusuf’s defection from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) to the APC as a strategic move that had strengthened Kano’s political relevance and improved its prospects of attracting development.
He said the alignment of the governor, local government chairmen, councillors, state lawmakers and National Assembly members under the APC could help translate political cooperation into development benefits for residents.
Barau explained that the newly inaugurated campaign committees comprised party leaders, executive members, serving and former lawmakers, councillors, local government chairmen, new members and community elders.
He charged the committees to mobilise voters and campaign actively for all APC candidates ahead of the 2027 elections.
He said the forthcoming polls would also provide elected representatives with an opportunity to contribute further to the development of their constituencies.
