Army Bids Farewell to Discharged Master Warrant Officers
The Nigerian Army has held a farewell ceremony for discharged Master Warrant Officers in Zaria, urging them to remain good ambassadors of the Service and contribute positively to their communities.
The Nigerian Army has bade farewell to discharged Master Warrant Officers of the Depot Nigerian Army, Zaria, at a ceremony held at the institution’s conference room.
The ceremony was attended by the Commandant of the Depot, Brig.-Gen. Usman Ahmad, principal staff officers and heads of departments.
Addressing the discharged personnel, Ahmad urged them to maintain peaceful relationships with the communities where they choose to settle and remain good ambassadors of the Nigerian Army.
He encouraged them to continue contributing positively to the protection of the civil populace while engaging in hobbies and other activities that would help them maintain physical fitness after leaving active service.
Ahmad, on behalf of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu, thanked the Master Warrant Officers for their service and sacrifices to the country.
He wished them success in their future endeavours and urged them to draw on their experience and discipline as they begin life outside active military service.
Speaking on behalf of the discharged officers, the outgoing Regimental Sergeant Major of the Depot, Master Warrant Officer Joshua Agwaru, expressed appreciation to the Commandant for his mentorship and guidance.
Agwaru assured the Commandant and the Nigerian Army that the discharged personnel would remain available to serve the country in other capacities whenever their services were required.
Highlights of the ceremony included words of advice from senior officers, the presentation of souvenirs and gift items to the discharged personnel, and group photographs.
