AAC Unveils Sowore–Magashi 2027 Campaign Council
The African Action Congress has unveiled its campaign council for the 2027 presidential election, stepping up preparations for the contest with Omoyele Sowore as its candidate and Haruna Magashi as his running mate.
The African Action Congress AAC has unveiled its campaign council for the 2027 presidential election, as the party intensifies efforts to mobilise support for its presidential candidate, Mr Omoyele Sowore, and his running mate, Mr Haruna Magashi.
The development forms part of the party’s preparations for the general elections, with a focus on nationwide mobilisation, grassroots engagement and communicating its political agenda to Nigerians.
Sowore, a human rights activist and publisher of Sahara Reporters, emerged as the party’s presidential candidate following its primaries in May 2026. He has pledged to pursue reforms covering workers’ welfare, electricity, education, housing, healthcare and security if elected.
The AAC has positioned its campaign around what it describes as revolutionary justice, equal rights and people-centred governance, while criticising the country’s prevailing political and economic arrangements.
The party has also called for greater participation by young people, workers and other groups in the political process, urging Nigerians to support its proposed changes to governance and public service delivery.
The campaign council is expected to coordinate political activities, strengthen the party’s structures and support engagements with voters ahead of the 2027 polls.
The AAC’s campaign preparations come as political parties intensify their activities ahead of the elections, with candidates outlining policy proposals and seeking to build support across the country.
The party has maintained that it intends to run a grassroots-driven campaign and mobilise citizens around its proposals for political, social and economic transformation.
